Hello my name is Donna Whitfield DeCosta and I have had the good fortune to have been blessed with two of the essential things that makes photography such a great passion. First the beautiful island I live on, Harbour Island. It's a photographer's dream. And secondly, family and friends who give you cameras as gifts(smile). I was transfixed by photos at an early age, and my mother fed this fixation by collecting every family photo she could get her hands on.I was formally introduced to photography by my stepfather, photojournalist and watercolor artist, Harvey Roberts. He gave me my first camera. A Canon EOS 650. That is still my favorite camera today. Since then I have been photographing any and everything. And with each additional camera my passion becomes greater. Although photography was secondary in my life for many years, as I worked as  a chef. It has  continued to be a constant.

 Most of my work in recent years has been weddings and Events. I try to show my clients the best of themselves through my images. By letting them be themselves. Keeping it light and loose. I  consider myself a natural light photographer.  And have honed my style around that concept.  It's always fun trying to find new ideas, to use the  venues on our beautiful islands.
